Our Receptionists :


Pat



Pat is our head receptionist and has been with Spring Valley for 6 years. Graduating from business school and having a degree in Early Childhood Education, she brings business savvy and a lot of patience to our practice. Pat has been married for 43 years and has two sons and a daughter-in-law.  Outside of work, Pat enjoys spending time with her godson going to movies, Dairy Queen, car shows, and museums. She also enjoys reading and going to craft shows.



Denise S.



Denise graduated from Western Illinios University with a degree in education. She is married to a "wonderful man” and has three grown-up kids.  Denise and her husband have recently opened their home and hearts to two kittens, "Dickens" and "Sasha".  In her spare time she loves reading a good novel and traveling (but not so crazy about packing for the trip). We are very happy to have Denise as a part of our front office staff.



Our Surgery Technician:

Nancy, CVT


In 1989 Nancy received her Veterinary Technician Certification and ten years later began wildlife rescue and rehabilitation; receiving permits from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and US Fish and Wildlife for small mammal and water bird rehabilitation. Nancy has been the surgery technician at our practice since 2006 and works closely with doctors to ensure safe and successful surgeries. In her spare time, Nancy volunteers at a local animal shelter and assists with exotic and barnyard animal rescue. She enjoys spending time at home on her farm with family, friends, her 3 white German Shepherds, as well as a barnyard of animals including goats, sheep, and a potbelly pig.



Our Veterinary Technicians and Assistants:

Daniel


Daniel comes to us from Charleston, SC where he grew up and went to college.  Having been a veterinary technician for almost 13 years, Daniel has worked in animal clinics all over the country, including Emergency and Specialty Hospitals (Surgery, Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology).  He moved to Chicago 3.5 years ago and currently lives in the city with his partner and their dogs, “Dexter” and "Kylie". When Daniel is not working, he enjoys concerts, shows, traveling, reading, cooking and spending time with friends. He is also involved with several non-profit organizations.

Mindy


Mindy joined Spring Valley in 2007, bringing several years experience as a veterinary technician with her. With her caring nature and attention to detail, she is a valued member of our staff. In her spare time, Mindy enjoys spending time with friends, her two Miniature Pinschers and family. She also enjoys cooking, reading, movies and music, (especially Harry Connick Jr.)


Dawn


Dawn graduated from U of I Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Health and is currently enrolled in the nursing program at Harper College. Dawn has been working at Spring Valley since the summer of 2006 and has brought joy and compassion to the clinic.
 
Denise K.


Kim

Kim is a recent High School graduate and is now working at Spring Valley part time while attending college. Her goal is to become an exotic animal veterinarian. Kim shares her home with 2 cats, a gecko, and a Pac man Frog. Between working and school, Kim tries to find time to enjoy concerts, movies and reading reptile magazines.
 

Sara


Sara has been working with our clinic part time after school since May of 2007.  She is a junior at James B. Conant High school and plans to major in Neuroscience and Philosophy in college.  Sara and her family have 3 dogs and a bird.
